Talent Manager - Human Resources
Location: HQ, Denmark
When visiting numerous field locations, it is extremely heart-warming to experience the welcome you receive as being part of the family, even though you have not met before. And this goes from the Country Director, to cleaners and guards.
What does a normal day look like?
Due to the nature of my work, in which I develop
HR processes, tools and systems for the whole organization - coordination & dialogue with all of our operations is crucial. Much of my day is therefore spent in meetings with colleagues, either face-to-face or over Skype. If not, it's following up on ongoing projects, ensuring my team is aligned with the overall strategy of DRC and that everyone is happy.
What is the best thing about your job?
That most of what we produce is really needed in the organization, so it is usually welcomed with open arms.
What is the most challenging part about your job?
That the world consists of many different countries and cultures, meaning that one-size-fits-all can be challenging. You need to be open and flexible into what local needs may be.
Past and future journey in DRC
I have always worked with HR, in particular recruitment and talent management, within the development world. And I believe my future journey will be in those lines, either in HQ or field roles.
