Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.
DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 800 staff in Ukraine and implements emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.
DRC is currently looking for a Finance Officer in Kyiv.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
- Maintaining accounting records of Fixed Assets (FA) and Low value assets (LVA) in accordance with the Statutory GAAP.
- To prepare internal primary documents for FA and LVA accounting.
- Run depreciation in accordance with the selected method.
- Controlling useful life of FA and LVA.
- Accounting for FA and LVA internal movement between divisions.
- Writing off fixed assets (depreciation, liquidation, sale, free transfer) in ERP BAF.
- Participation in the annual inventory of FA and LVA.
- Reconciliation of actual availability of FA and LVA with accounting data.
- Registration of statutory inventory results and their reflection in accounting.
- Providing information to management on the movement and condition of FA and LVA Writing off fuel in ERP BAF.
- To prepare internal primary documents for fuel accounting.
- Maintaining accounting records of Humanitarian aid in accordance with the Statutory GAAP.
- Report on the availability and distribution of humanitarian aid preparation (on a monthly basis).
- Verification of documents related to the activities of the DRC Program and received for payment: invoices, acts and invoices, documents on the acceptance and transfer of goods and material values (materials/charity assistance) so what.
- Carry out accrual and transfer of taxes and fees, insurance contributions to state extra-budgetary social funds, payments to banking institutions, and other payments..
About you
To be successful in this role, we expect you to be a team player for our finance team. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented colleague with at least 2 years of relevant experience. You will need to work with large amounts of information and have experience in Excel to sort and analyze it. Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
- Higher education in accounting and auditing / finance / economics.
- 2 years of experience as an accountant in accounting for fixed assets.
- Maintaining primary documentation for fixed assets and non-current assets.
- Experience in participating in inventories of fixed assets and non-current assets.
- Proficient in Excel (spreadsheets, formulas, analytics) and BAF.
Desirable
- Previous experience as an accountant in a public organization.
- Participation in the automation of health care accounting.
- Level of English Intermediate and above.
- Attention to detail and responsibility.
- Systematic and analytical thinking.
- Meeting deadlines.
