Who are we?
The Standards and Operational Support (SOS) Division supports DRC country operations through global frameworks, grants management, localization support and operational quality standards. The division includes the Localization Management Unit (LMU), the Global Projects and Operational Quality Standards (GPS) Unit, the Diaspora Team and the Grants Management Unit.
About the job
We are recruiting two Student Assistants (approx. 20 hours/week) supporting the different teams in the SOS Division. Both roles involve coordination, administration and knowledge management across global humanitarian programmes.
- Student Assistant – LMU (Localization), Diaspora & GPS (Global Projects and Operational Quality Standards)
- You will support teams working on localization, diaspora engagement and global operational standards who are shaping how we transition toward localization. Your responsibilities will include:
- Workflow Coordination & Administrative Support: Organize meetings, take minutes and track follow-up actions to support smooth team workflows.
- Support to Global Frameworks & Policies: Assist GPS and LMU advisors with preparing and rolling out global policies, including coordinating travel logistics for staff and stakeholders.
- Project Administration (Diaspora Team): Support procurement, maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with DRC procedures and donor requirements.
- Communication & Knowledge Management: Create internal communication materials, maintain SharePoint resources and conduct light research to support planning.

- Student Assistant – Grants Management Unit
- In this role, you will support the specialists who secure and manage our global funding. Your responsibilities include:
- Proposal & Grant Tracking: Assisting Grants Management Specialists in ensuring we stay on track with the critical steps required for proposal submission and institutional donor reporting.
- Community Coordination: Supporting coordination and administrative tasks within the team and the wider global grants management community to ensure efficient funding processes.
- Workflow Coordination & Administrative Support: Ensure operational continuity through meticulous organization of meetings, professional note-taking to preserve organizational memory, and tracking follow-up actions.

About you
To be successful in either of these roles, we expect you to be organized, detail-oriented and interested in learning how large humanitarian organizations operate. You enjoy coordinating tasks across teams and communicating clearly with different stakeholders.

Required
- Currently enrolled at a university in Denmark with studies continuing until at least December 2026
- Strong written and spoken English
- Structured and systematic working style with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- Legal right to work in Denmark
Desirable
- Interest in humanitarian operations, localization or diaspora engagement
- Experience with administrative coordination, procurement or finance tracking
- Experience with SharePoint or digital documentation systems
- Skills in visual communication or content creation
- Previous experience in an NGO or international organization
We offer
Contract length: Permanent subject to being enrolled in a study program. The contract will end upon graduating.
Working hours: Student Assistant contract, approx. 20 hours per week
Workplace: Lyngbyvej 100, 2100 Copenhagen Ø, just by Ryparken station
Start date: As soon as possible
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and HK. This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply. Please note that you need to have the right to work in Denmark (through nationality or existing work visa) in order to be considered for this role.
