Purpose of the Role
Provide safe, confidential, and survivor-centred GBV case management services in line with approved procedures, ensuring appropriate referrals, follow-up, and access to essential services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an agreed caseload, including assessment, safety planning, referrals, follow-up, and case closure.
- Ensure informed consent, confidentiality, non-discrimination, and respect for survivors’ choices.
- Provide supportive listening and basic psychosocial support within the scope of competence.
- Facilitate safe and timely referrals to health, mental health, legal, and other services based on survivor needs and wishes.
- Identify urgent safety concerns and seek appropriate supervision and specialist support.
- Provide technical guidance to the assistant and escalate complex cases to the designated supervisor.
- Maintain updated referral pathways and ensure continuity of services during field visits, access interruptions, and handovers.
- Maintain secure and confidential case records using approved systems and procedures.
- Report aggregated service information and gaps without identifying survivors.
- Follow safeguarding, PSEA, Code of Conduct, and information-management requirements.
Experience and Technical Competencies
- Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related field; relevant diploma with substantial experience may be considered.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant GBV response or protection experience, including direct survivor-centred case management.
- Practical competence in GBV case management, informed consent, safety planning, confidential documentation, and safe referrals.
- Experience working with women and adolescent girls in humanitarian settings and coordinating with health, psychosocial, and child-protection services.
- Ability to mentor an assistant, recognise limits of competence, and seek specialist support.
- Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
- Willingness and ability to travel to remote locations under approved security arrangements.
