Everyday Heroes from Syria

This World Refugee Day June 20 2015 we believe now more than ever before we need to stand shoulder to shoulder with Syrian refugees and amplify the voice of positive action by reconnecting through humanity; and hence the Danish Refugee Council in the MENA region is launching the Everyday Heroes of Syria campaign.

The situation in Syria has been labeled by the UN as “the greatest humanitarian tragedy of our time.” But while the numbers of refugees and tragic stories of hardship continue to grow day by day as this crisis moves into its fifth year, we cannot let the world become fatigued by the situation.

The Everyday Heroes of Syria is a Facebook campaign that seeks to inspire and remind all of us that no matter who we are, where we come from, we all can be part of the solution for Syrian refugees.

Every day we will feature inspirational stories of Everyday Heroes from Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan and Turkey  -men, women and children – who have opened their hearts, pockets or even homes to support Syrian refugees. These people are not motivated by money; they are everyday people who say you need help, what can I do?

We believe positive action can inspire positive change. Please join us at Everyday Heroes of Syria and share your Everyday Hero story. United we can build a movement.

Syrian people are just like you and me. They deserve more.

The campaign is managed by the Danish Refugee Council in collaboration with European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department (ECHO)
