Overall purpose of the role: Promote DRC's mission, mandate, work, and communication strategies across the Middle East, Asia, and Europe (MEAE) Hub. This role involves working closely with programme teams in all the country offices under the MEAE Hub to identify and implement appropriate methods to communicate DRC's work to relevant parties, including donors, partners, and the public and ensuring all DRC’s material is well designed.
Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for an experienced Communication and Graphic Design Officer who will work in Amman/Jordan, within their line management mandate, and in alignment with DRC’s leadership standards and policies, the position holder is responsible for:
- Elaborate graphics and assist with the design and layout of reports and publications and other products to ensure they are visually appealing and adhere to DRC's branding guidelines.
- Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of the DRC MEAE Hub and country offices’ communication and visibility strategy.
- Collect material and gather information, coordinating with various Country Offices in the MEAE region to produce communication content.
- Support project managers across the MEAE region in developing and implementing effective communication and visibility plans for their projects.
- Create engaging social media content, including posts, stories, and videos, to enhance DRC's online presence and engagement.
- Support the development and production of project-related visibility materials, such as leaflets, banners, newsletters, thematic bulletins, and photobooks, ensuring they are tailored to the context.
- Provide guidance to colleagues on communication guidelines and visual identity.
- Prepare and translate press releases, agendas, and minutes of meetings as required.
- Capture high-quality stories, photos and videos at various events and activities to document DRC's work in the region.
About you
- University Degree in graphic design, communication, journalism, or a similar field, or an equivalent professional qualification
- Excellent oral and written skills and a demonstrated ability to write and develop strong communication and advocacy materials.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools.
- At least 2 years of experience working in graphic design, communications and social media management.
- Experience working in an NGO is highly desirable.
- Experience working in the Middle East, Asia, or Europe is an advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
- Fluency in Arabic is a strong asset.
