About the job

The Information Management Officer (IMO) is dedicated to supporting data-management for DRC’s Protection programs in Algeria, Libya and Tunisia, including supporting DRC’s Protection Monitoring work. The IMO will support DRC’s Information Management Specialist (IMS) in the creation, update and improvement of DRC ALT information management system (ActivityInfo) with a focus on Protection forms and data. This will include regular reviews of Protection data, including cleaning and validation, to support the IMS in data reporting and visualization for DRC’s internal and external audiences (donor). The IMO will support the IMS in the design and roll-out of DRC’s Protection Monitoring framework across ALT. To this end, the IMO will be directly responsible to design reports and thematic documents related to DRC’s protection programming for both internal and external audiences, and will support the Protection Manager and other members of the protection team in the identification of key protection trends and in the analysis of quantitative data in order to support the development of evidence-based decision making and strategies.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Protection Information Management:
    • Contribute to the design, update and improvement of DRC ALT’s Protection information management system and forms on ActivityInfo, with particular focus on developing an IM system for Protection and Child Protection Case Management.
    • Regularly review, clean and validate data collected by the Protection team to ensure accurate and timely visualization and internal/external reporting.
    • Provide day-to-day support and capacity building to the Protection team to improve their knowledge and proficient-use of DRC ALT information management system.
    • Regularly coordinate with the IMS to incorporate learnings and support improvement of DRC ALT’s information management system.
  • Protection Monitoring:
    • Support the IMS in the design and roll out of DRC’s Protection Monitoring across ALT
    • Regularly review, clean and validate Protection Monitoring data to ensure accurate and timely visualization and internal/external reporting.
    • Create and update Protection Monitoring data visualization and reporting tools for DRC and partners
    • In collaboration with DRC Protection Manager, process, analyze, share and use data and information to enable evidence-informed action for quality protection outcomes, triggers for needs assessments, and links to humanitarian programme cycle.
    • Process data, compile and disseminate information for use in various protection-related materials, including but not limited to reports, briefings and analyses
    • Follow up protection monitors to clarify information, triangulate with other sources to ensure accuracy
    • Support in the training of protection monitors and protection teams in related topics and activities.
  • Other:
    • Support the IMS to uphold confidentiality of information and ensure there is provision of data security, including strict data handling and protocols, backup and recovery control
    • Support the development of standardized data collection tools for Protection needs assessments and so on, to inform protection responses, methodology design and operational planning

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have 2-3 years of professional experience in the field of humanitarian interventions, protection or human rights.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • Experience of working as information analyst.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
  • University degree or preferably in Social Sciences, Human Rights, Statistics, Information Technology or related field from a recognized institution of higher learning.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with relational databases.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and preferably MS Access or other databases, such as Stata in humanitarian settings.
  • Strong knowledge of ActivityInfo, Kobo, Power-Bi and other data visualization tools.
  • Ability to use mobile phone apps in data collection and analysis including conducting assessments and surveys.
  • Knowledge of different data collection methodologies and processes
  • Strong understanding of humanitarian mapping, displacement and protection issues.
  • Understanding of GIS and cartographic outputs, and the ability to collect and organize data to support production or maps and infographics.
  • Demonstrated skills in PC troubleshooting, software and hardware support, networking, data backup, creating data entry forms and generating database reports.
  • Solid knowledge of the migration context in Libya and of the protecting issues affecting migrants and refugees
  • Demonstrated effective presentation, communication and coordination skills.
  • Proven capacity to document, summarize and analyze information in a clear and systematic manner.
  • Good understanding of project management cycle, tools and principles.
  • Required attention to detail and a sense of organization

Desired

  • Knowledge of French is an asset

We offer

Contract length: Until Dec 31, 2026

Band: NMH level 1

Designation of Duty Station: Tripoli, covering ALT with 20% travel to all field offices in ALT 

Suggested Start date: 01 April 2026
