About the role

Overall purpose of the role

Under the supervision of the Support Services TL & in coordination with the Admin Officer, the GS-maintenance is responsible to carry out various maintenance tasks such as assets/GPE installations/dismantling, preventative maintenance and undertake routine inspections of the WC premises, furniture, fixtures, fittings & utilities, in addition, preparing maintenance reports for the WC assets/GPE and its repairing or disposal status.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Handling all the required maintenance, repairs and installation with safety standards in Mocha & Khokha premises, community center & the store.
  • Detecting, identifying and repairing the premises issues, such as the A/Cs problems, the building's electrical & plumbing pipes.
  • Fitting, testing, repairing and replacing fixtures and fittings, including lightbulbs, windows, doors looks and handrails.
  • Replace and fix all the damages in equipment, structures or assets in Mocha & Khokha.
  • Performing basic carpentry including hanging and replacing doors and operating power tools.
  • Plan and perform regular inspection visits to the offices, GHs, and CC to identify any maintenance requirements and resolve it.
  • Make sure bathrooms of the offices & GHs taps, basins and toilets are working properly.
  • Overseeing contractors when repairs and installations happen to ensure that work is completed on time and as specified.
  • Check solar systems and panels are clean, secure, no system fault, are not corroded, has not been damaged, and check wiring.
  • Installing/dismantling furniture and equipment.
  • Ensure cleaners follow the maintenance procedures.
  • Ensuring all safety systems are functioning properly, including smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
  • Offer suggestions to improve premises utilities consumption & reducing the overall maintenance cost.
  • Reporting requirements for repairs to the line manager.
  • Report the asset/GPE for repair or disposal as per the relevant procedure.
  • Assist the Admin officer in the bi-yearly full premises inspection & the findings reports.
  • Participating in the Assets/GPE physical verification when requested.
  • In coordination with the Admin Officer & LM, prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work as per forecasted priorities & workload.

 

Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience)

  • At least one year of professional experience in a similar position
  • Hands-on air conditioning maintenance experience
  • Hands-on electrical equipment experience (such as the elect. regulators, switches, wires…etc)
  • Good computer skills (MS Word and MS Excel)
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Relevant INGO experience is preferable.

 

Education: : (include certificates, licenses etc.)

  • Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, electrical or related field.

 

Languages: : (indicate fluency level)

 

  • English: basic level
  • Arabic: Fluent
