About the job
The Economic Recovery Assistant provides operational, technical, and administrative support to the implementation of Economic Recovery activities. The role contributes to the delivery of livelihoods and other access to employment activities and related interventions through field-level support, data collection, beneficiary engagement, and logistical coordination.
The assistant will support in other Economic Recovery activities including Emergency preparedness and response project as well as capacity building activities and coordination with local stakeholders.
The Assistant ensures that program activities are implemented efficiently and in line with DRC procedures, while supporting documentation, reporting, and communication processes, and maintaining responsiveness to community needs.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
Programming
- Support adherence to professional standards related to Economic Recovery programming.
- Support the implementation of Economic Recovery activities, including livelihoods, capacity building, emergency preparedness and response, and income-generating interventions.
- Assist in beneficiary identification, registration, and verification processes.
- Support field assessments using FGDs, KIIs, and surveys.
- Provide logistical and operational support for program activities.
- Assist in organizing trainings, workshops, and events.
- Assist in the distribution of grants, tools, and materials, ensuring proper documentation.
- Conduct field visits to support activity implementation and monitoring.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of program activities.
- Disseminate information to beneficiaries on livelihood opportunities.
- Liaise with the MEAL unit and support timely responses to beneficiary feedback, complaints, and queries.
- Report any protection, safeguarding, or operational concerns.
- Uphold confidentiality and ensure beneficiary dignity and data protection.

Reporting
- Contribute to the preparation of timely, high-quality reports on program activities.
- Provide weekly updates to the Economic Recovery Team Leader, including accurate data on activities, participants, and challenges, in the agreed format.
- Ensure all sector trackers are regularly updated and maintained.
Representation
- Develop and strengthen relationships with local partners and communities to maintain trust in DRC’s professional standard and quality of work among all stakeholders.
Operations
- Contribute to the effective implementation of operational support activities, including administration, finance, and logistics, to ensure smooth project implementation.
- Support administrative, logistics, and procurement processes in coordination with relevant support departments.
- Assist in preparing procurement requests and tracking deliveries.
Other
- Conduct other tasks as requested by the line manager for the effective implementation of DRC’s project, including translation, support to capacity-building activities and other duties.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have 1-2 years of professional experience in the field of social work, humanitarian intervention, community development, or any other relevant field. Moreover, we also expect the following:
- Previous experience in Livelihoods and cash assistance programs desirable
- Previous experience in managing logistics of events.
- Previous experience in data collection, fieldwork, or community engagement
- Previous experience working with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and local communities
- High-level of computer literacy
- University Degree in the field of BA, social sciences, psychology, political sciences, development or any other related field
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
