About the role

Overall purpose of the role:

Ensures the GH is always clean and sanitary. perform a range of duties, including dusting or mopping and sweeping floors. common areas stay fresh by performing routine inspections every day at specified times. Provides a diverse range of routine cleaning and general services support to offices & GHs. Perform clerical services, equipment operation, materials handling, Guest serving cleaning, and/or other related duties in accordance with day-to-day requirements DRC Premises.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Guest rooms floor care, windows, vacuuming, dusting, disinfecting, polishing, mopping, sweeping, light fittings, countertops, ceiling vents, and spot-cleaning carpets of all office areas, surfaces, desks, and furniture as needed.
  • Cleaning common areas such as hallways, stairwells, lobbies, and reception areas.
  • Clean the GH yard and roofs.
  • Cleaning guest rooms by making beds, cleaning windowsills, changing linens, vacuuming carpets, dusting furnishings.
  • Changing bed linens, making beds, vacuuming rugs, dusting furniture, cleaning mirrors and windows, and removing cobwebs
  • Cleaning walls and ceilings to remove spots, smudges, and other blemishes.
  • Coordinating with other Cleaners to keep your business clean.
  • Cooking in the guest house when it is needed.
  • Making sure that all office and Guests Rooms have appropriate supplies and linens in them.
  • Listening to, understanding and clarifying guest concerns. Inspecting the cleaning and servicing of guestrooms and public areas.
  • Responsible to clean the kitchen including Floor, walls, cabinets, windows, equipment, dishes, sink, dishrack, countertops, leftovers, Empty trash.
  • Responsible for removing trash, Emptying trash cans in the office/GH’s rooms and areas.
  • Cleaning and sterilizing bathrooms including removing hair from drains, cleaning toilets, and scrubbing tubs and showers
  • Ensuring that all the bathrooms are supplied with all the needs.
  • Notify the supervisor of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs.
  • Liaising with the supervisor to ensure that you have sufficient cleaning products at all times.
  • Reporting any breakages that occur during the cleaning process.
  • Participate in large cleaning projects as required or to be moved between office & GHs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas

Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Experience and technical competencies:

  • At least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Education:

  • High school.

Languages:

  • Arabic - fluent

We Offer.

Contract length: December 31, 2026

Position Band: This position will be placed in the non-management (K) band. Reports to the Admin Team Leader

Start date: ASAP

Duty station: Aden, Yemen.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s National Terms of Employment.
