DRC is currently looking for a Finance Assistant (Accountant) in Kharkiv.
About the job
Under the supervision of Finance Team Leader, the Finance Assistant (Accountant Assistant) is part of the accounting unit within the Finance department and ensures compliance with Ukrainian legislation and reporting requirements.
The role involves supporting the implementation of accounting policies and standard operating procedures, providing on-the-job support, and strengthening capacity of the project and support staff.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
- Support in checking, calculating and processing the payments of business trips for DRC staff, and maintenance of advances to employees.
- Checking DRC Program activities related documents for compliance with Ukrainian legislation.
- Checking the availability of primary documents.
- Collection of documents and preparation documents for submission to the archive.
- Receiving inbound documentation for accounting processing.
- Control of the authenticity of the necessary documents from supplier, post it in BAF system and control supplier information in BAF system.
- Maintaining, timely entering transactions, posting primary documents, timely updating information in “BAF” ERP, to do posting the bank statements; expense reports; inventory write off.
- Accounting of property, liabilities (accounting for fixed assets, inventory, etc.).
- Support the registration of transactions and organization of document flow in the accounting system.
- Ensure compliance with the procedure for maintaining travel documents and checking the relevance of reports.
- Ensure day-to-day accounting functions, including payments.
About you
To be successful in this role, you must have at least 3 years of experience in finance/accounting, preferably in a non-governmental organization (NGO). In addition, we expect you to meet the following requirements:
Required
- University degrees (bachelor’s in accounting / finance / audit).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and BAF.
- Advanced organizational skills.
- Speech and communication skills.
- Accuracy in paperwork.
- Ukrainian: Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing.
Desirable
- English: Intermediate and above is desirable.
