About the job

As part of the global IT department and in collaboration with programs and operations, your main duties and responsibilities will be:

 

AI solution design & delivery

  • Translate business and operational needs into AI‑enabled solutions (AI for productivity eg. document processing, language services, knowledge search or applied AI for projects and applications).
  • Design and implement AI systems to harness the data we collect from projects and project innovation
  • Integrate AI solutions into existing platforms and workflows (e.g. case management systems, collaboration tools, data platforms).
  • Owns the technical governance of AI capabilities within the tenant by configuring relevant Microsoft 365, Copilot, and security settings.

Data & model lifecycle

  • Prepare, clean, and structure data for AI use, in collaboration with data and system owners.
  • Fine‑tune, evaluate, and validate models with focus on accuracy, explainability, bias, and cost.
  • Monitor AI systems in production and improve them over time (performance, quality, drift).

Responsible & ethical AI

  • Embed Responsible AI principles into solution design (privacy, fairness, transparency, security).
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, organizational data protection policies, and donor requirements.
  • Contribute to AI governance, standards, and documentation.

Collaboration & enablement

  • Work closely with non‑technical stakeholders to ensure solutions are understandable and usable.
  • Support pilots, user testing, and adoption across HQ and country offices overlooking licence costs
  • Contribute to internal guidance, best practices, and capability building around AI.

     

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

  • A master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including strong hands-on work in full-stack development, enterprise platforms or AI solutions
  • Experience building and deploying generative AI applications
  • Knowledge of Copilot or integration of other productivity AI tools with Microsoft suite

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • Strong experience with Python and AI/ML frameworks or AI APIs.
  • Practical experience building and deploying AI solutions (not only experimentation).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure), preferably using managed AI services.
  • Solid understanding of data handling, APIs, and system integration.
  • Familiarity with generative AI / LLMs, prompt design, and AI evaluation.
  • Understanding of privacy, security, and ethical considerations in AI.

Desirable

  • Experience working in NGOs, public sector, or regulated environments.
  • Experience with multilingual or low‑resource contexts.
  • Experience supporting non‑technical users in adopting digital solutions.

Contract length: Permanent

Work location:  Lyngbyvej 100, 2100 Copenhagen Ø, just by Ryparken station
Start date:  As soon as possible.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and the AC organizations. This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
