The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking a Junior Digital Communications Officer to support the promotion of its mission, mandate, and advocacy efforts, with a strong focus on global social media channels.

You will work closely with the Global Communications team, particularly the Global Digital Advisor, to create engaging digital content, strengthen collaboration between headquarters and country offices, and contribute to data-driven social media strategies.

The position is part-time, for an estimated 30 hours a week according to budget availability.

Please note that it is a requirement to have the right to work in Denmark (through nationality or existing work visa) to be considered for this role.
 

Main Responsibilities

Content creation

  • Support the production of engaging social media content, including copywriting, short-form video editing, and basic graphic design
  • Assist in the development and implementation of creative campaigns across digital platforms
  • Contribute to storytelling efforts through visuals, infographics, and multimedia content
  • Support the implementation of DRC’s global social media strategy

Coordination & capacity support

  • Facilitate collaboration and best practices between HQ and Country Offices
  • Support country teams in delivering high-quality donor communications for national, language-specific, and global channels

Monitoring, analytics & insights

  • Track and analyse social media performance across channels
  • Produce regular analytics reports with actionable insights and recommendations
  • Identify trends in humanitarian communication and social media to inform strategy

Required

  • Legal right to work and live in Denmark for the duration of the contract
  • University diploma in graphic design, communications, public relations, filmmaking, or related field
  • Experience with social media analytics tools (e.g., META and LinkedIn analytics)
  • Solid skills in Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effect (other video editing platforms also welcome)
  • Knowledge and interest in social media best practices and algorithms updates
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English
  • Commitment to the values and Code of Conduct of the Danish Refugee Council

Desirable:

  • Experience in humanitarian sector and international development
  • Research and analytical skills, an eye for detail, and good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Canva Pro
  • Ability to organise your own work, and to balance and prioritise different tasks

Plus:

  • Knowledge of Danish and/or Arabic
     

We offer

Contract length: 12 months

Start date: June/July 2026

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and HK. This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
