Civil Society Organisations in the Field of Mediation and Dialogue in Ukraine

War in Ukraine has resulted in a large-scale mobilisation of civil society and rapid growth of local initiatives. As a response to the challenges caused by the war, a large number of organisations emerged and an unprecedented number of Ukrainians started to be engaged in volunteering.

Executive summary

Between June 2022 and March 2023, a team of Ukrainian researchers in peacebuilding and conflict resolution conducted a study titled "Civil Society Organisations in the Field of Mediation and Dialogue in Ukraine: Changes, Challenges and Trends after 24 February 2022".

The aim of the paper was to identify developments in the context of initiatives contributing to peace and conflict resolution by responding to the social and political impact of the war.

The study was conducted under the project “Building Social Cohesion and Peace in Ukraine”, led by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) as part of the Ukraine Confidence Building Initiative (UCBI), with the financial support of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The authors are solely responsible for the content of this document, as well as for the terms used in this document.
