DRC recommendations on the proposed Return Regulation
In March 2025, the European Commission presented a proposal for a reform of the 2008 Return Directive, in the form of a Return Regulation. With this paper, DRC aims to contribute to the current negotiations on the proposed Return Regulation between the European Parliament and the Council. The analysis and recommendations are based on DRC’s work with rejected asylum seekers in Denmark and reflections on the Danish return system.
