Project Launch: Enhancing Protection for Conflict-affected Communities in Sudan.

With funding from the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), the project serves individuals and communities in Sudan at heightened risk of physical harm, deprivation and rights violations from the ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis. Leveraging the collective protection expertise of consortium partners—including in child protection, housing, land and property rights—the project provides four key kinds of support:

1. Individualized services for survivors or people at risk of violence and other serious harm in the context of conflict and large-scale internal displacement;

2. Awareness raising and resilience programmes designed to reduce individuals’ vulnerability to threats to their protection and wellbeing;

3. Capacity-building programmes to strengthen the ability of communities to mitigate and respond to internal and external protection threats, and

4. Leadership to improve humanitarian coordination, situation monitoring and analysis, accountability, advocacy, and capacity building to promote principled and effective responses to protection needs.
