Statement on Myanmar

The Danish Refugee Council is deeply concerned over the increasing and disproportionate use of force against peaceful protesters in Myanmar, leading yesterday to 18 killed and many injured. No one should be targeted or killed as a result of exercising their right to engage in peaceful protest. Furthermore, as a humanitarian organisation, the Danish Refugee Council remains committed to responding to the urgent and increasing needs of vulnerable persons in areas affected by decades of war and instability in Myanmar. Persons displaced by conflict across Myanmar have expressed their growing concerns over access to assistance.

The Danish Refugee Council continues to advocate for the importance and criticality of immediate and unhindered access to and support for populations in need of emergency aid and protection.

မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင် ငြိမ်းချမ်းစွာ ဆန္ဒထုတ်ဖော်နေကြသူများ အား အလွန်အကျွံ အင်အားသုံး၍ ဖြေရှင်း ခြင်းကို Danish Refugee Council က လွန်စွာ စိုးရိမ်မိပါသည်။ ယမန်နေ့က စုစုပေါင်း လူ (၁၈) ဦး သေဆုံး၍ အများအပြား ဒဏ်ရာရရှိခြင်းဖြစ်ပွားခဲ့ပါသည်။ လူတဦးချင်းစီ၏ အခွင့်အရေး ဖြစ်သော ငြိမ်းချမ်းစွာ ဆန္ဒ ထုတ်ဖော်ခြင်း တွင် မည်သူတဦးတယောက်ကိုမှ ပစ်မှတ်ထားခြင်း (သို့မဟုတ်) အသက် ဆုံးရှုံးစေခြင်း လုံးဝ မဖြစ်သင့်ပါ။ ထို့အပြင် လူသားချင်းစာနာထောက်ထားမှုဆိုင်ရာ အကူအညီ ပေးသည့် အဖွဲ့အစည်း တစ်ခု အနေဖြင့် Danish Refugee Council သည် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင် ဆယ်စုနှစ် ပေါင်းများစွာ ကြာမြင့်သည် စစ်ပွဲများနှင့် မတည်ငြိမ်မှုများ ကြောင့် ထိခိုက်ခံရသူများ အတွက် အရေး ပေါ် အကူအညီများ နှင့် တိုးမြင့်လာသည့် လိုအပ်ချက်များ ကို ဆက်လက် ပေးအပ်ရန် ကတိကဝတ် ပြုပါသည်။ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအတွင်း ပဋိပက္ခကြောင့် နေရပ်စွန့်ခွာရသူများ သည် သူတို့အတွက် အကူအညီ ပေးအပ်နေခြင်းများ ဆက်လက်ရရှိနိုင်မှုအပေါ် စိုးရိမ်ပူပန်လျက် ရှိပါသည်။ Danish Refugee Council သည် အကူအညီလိုအပ်လျက် ရှိသော လူအများအတွက် အရေးပေါ် အကူအညီများနှင့် ကာကွယ်စောင့်ရှောက်ခြင်း လိုအပ်ချက်များ ကို ဆက်လက် လက်လှမ်းမီ ရရှိနိုင်ရေး နှင့် နောက်မကျ ဘဲ အမြန်ရရှိနိုင်ရေး အတွက် ဆက်လက် တိုက်တွန်း ဆောင်ရွက်လျက် ရှိပါသည်။
