Accessibility Statement

As of June 28, 2025, the European Accessibility Act (EAA) sets a new standard for digital accessibility and inclusivity across the EU.

An accessible internet

At Danish Refugee Council, we fully support the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and what it aims to achieve. We see the EAA not just as a legal requirement, but as a great opportunity to prioritize making our websites and digital services better for all users.

In fact, the EAA fits perfectly with our values—especially “Be Inclusive”. The internet should be accessible to everyone. Obviously.

That said, accessibility is not a “one and done” and we are continuously working to improve the usability and inclusiveness of our website in line with the WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines.

Guidelines are great—but what really matters is the human experience. So, if you come across any accessibility barriers or have ideas for how we can do better, we'd love to hear from you. Just email us at [email protected]—your feedback is genuinely appreciated.

Our Ongoing Commitment to Accessibility

We prioritize accessibility by using the WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool to conduct automated, scheduled checks of our website.

Every two weeks, a selection of 10 pages—the 5 most viewed and 5 random—are evaluated, and comprehensive reports are shared with us, prompting improvements where needed.

This process ensures we never overlook accessibility, helping us create an inclusive experience for all visitors.

Complaints

In Denmark, where we are headquartered, the European Accessibility Act is overseen by the Agency for Digital Government (Digitaliseringsstyrelsen). If you wish to file a formal complaint about accessibility issues on our website, you can contact
