Legal aid

Providing legal help so displaced people can access protection and rebuild safely.

When people flee war or disaster, their safety often depends on something very simple — having the right documents.

Without legal papers, refugees can’t access protection, reunite with family, or even move freely. Many are left navigating complex systems they don’t understand, in countries where they don’t speak the language.

Danish Refugee Council provides free legal aid to help people reclaim their rights and rebuild their liv. Our teams assist with asylum cases, civil documentation, family reunification, and legal counselling.

Even a single document — a birth certificate, a residency permit, a protection status — can completely change a person’s future.
