Drought

Helping families survive severe drought with emergency aid, water, and life‑saving support.

Across the Horn of Africa, Afghanistan, Iraq, and other fragile regions, years of failed rains have pushed millions of people to the brink.

Drought destroys crops, kills livestock, and forces families to walk long distances in search of water, food, and safety. For many, it becomes a matter of pure survival.

Danish Refugee Council is on the ground helping families endure these extreme conditions. Our teams provide emergency food assistance, clean water, cash support, and early warning systems that protect communities before crises worsen.

We also support people who are displaced when drought and conflict collide, leaving them with nothing to return to.
