Hanieah's Story
Amidst the hardships, Hanieah Qa’ed, a widow grappling with the heavy responsibility of providing for three children afflicted with sickle cell disease, has found solace through CCY's intervention.
"When the conflict started, we were thrust into a humiliating existence, forced from our homes and stripped of our dignity," shares Hanieah.
"But with CCY's support, we found a glimmer of hope."
With unwavering determination, Hanieah seized the opportunity afforded by CCY's assistance to treat her children, pay part of the accumulated debt and recover the number of their daily meals after reducing it due to financial hardship.
"I used the funds to mainly to treat my three children," she reveals.
"Now, I can afford medical treatment, send them to school, and repay our debts. While life may not be perfect, we are in a better place thanks to DRC and the EU, who offered their help when we needed it most."
