Reducing Protection Risks in Lebanon: Preventing Child Labour and Gender-Based Violence

Conflict, displacement and economic hardship are deepening protection concerns across Lebanon, from child labour to gender-based violence. Through the SPEAC consortium, with the support of EU in Emergencies, DRC and its partners are working to reduce these risks and help those affected access the support they need.

Reducing protection risks for children

As a result of the conflict, displacement and economic hardships in Lebanon, child labour has become an increasing protection concern, putting children at risk and impacting their wellbeing, education, and development.

Through the SPEAC consortium – with the support of EU in Emergencies – DRC and its partners are working together to reduce the risk of child labour and help children and families access the support they need.

These same vulnerabilities continue to heighten protection risks for women and girls, including gender-based violence.

Together, DRC and its partners are also working to raise awareness, strengthen prevention efforts, and support access to services for those at risk of or affected by gender-based violence.
