SDC & DRC provide support to health institutions

Through the projects of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, DRC has provided full support to health institutions to alleviate the circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also to relieve medical workers from increased examinations and interventions under the influence of asylum seekers, migrants and refugees.

Thanks to the Swiss Embassy and in line with the Transition plan for state-owned migration response, DRC aims to support the technical and operational capacity-building investments necessary to enable the relevant local institutions to deliver health care services to the people on the move currently residing in Bosnia and Herzegovina according to international and EU standards and in line with the national legal framework.

In order to adequately respond to all challenges during the transition process, as one of the leading partners in the field of mixed migration response, DRC will provide technical and operational capacity building to relevant health institutions across BiH ensuring continuity and quality access to health care for mixed migration population.

Within the project Support to Health Transition, funded by SDC, we have visited the University clinical center of Republika Srpska, in Banja Luka, and delivered new supply of protection equipment and medicaments for it’s Emergency unit. DRC will continue focusing on protection of frontline workers, as they have been taking care of all of us – fully dedicating their time and energy to saving lives, keeping all people in Bosnia and Herzegovina healthy, and our society functioning.
