WASH
The WASH, Shelter & Infrastructure sector is one of DRC’s four core sectors of intervention. DRC delivers shelter and settlement solutions and provides basic services in both emergencies and situations of protracted displacement.
Whether people have sought protection and refuge in formal refugee camps or informal settlements, we provide temporary shelter, help repair damaged dwellings and infrastructure, and reconstruct permanent homes.
These initiatives enable vulnerable displaced populations to live in dignity and security.
To support immediate needs, strengthen local market dynamics, and build the resilience of people affected by conflict and displacement, DRC also offers cash grants and distributes Non-Food Items (NFIs), such as hygiene kits, emergency bedding, cooking utensils, and other critical supplies.
